Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi chairs 53th UoS board meeting
During the 53rd meeting of the University of Sharjah’s Board of Trustees (BoT), chaired by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), on Tuesday, in the University’s main building, he affirmed the continuation of work in accordance with the university’s plans to remain on its distinguished educational path and praised its progress.
He noted the concerted efforts to improve all university facilities, which contribute to creating a suitable environment for all components of the educational process, including professors, students, and administrative and technical organisations.
He began the meeting by praising the efforts of the university’s Board of Trustees, administrative, and instructional staff. He discussed many themes with council members relevant to various educational, academic, and administrative facets of the university. In addition, the board adopted several decisions that would contribute to the university’s mission and growth.
The council approved the university’s budget for 2022-2023, which would contribute to the execution and operation of all areas of the university’s intellectual, cultural, and social activities, as well as its scientific mission.
Furthermore, the council granted graduation certificates to students who satisfied the requirements for their various degrees.
In addition to many other issues, including internal audits, academic programmes, and scientific research, the council evaluated the report of the university’s strategy for the Emiratisation of 65 percent of employees.
Prof. Dr Hamid Al Nuaimi, UoS Chancellor, presented a report to the council on a variety of topics, including the university’s education system for the academic year 2021–2022, which saw many developments to keep up with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, to which the university was able to adapt using the most advanced technologies.
