Noura Al Kaabi visits South Korea Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, visited the South Korean Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The pavilion, which is ranked among the top five participating international pavilions at the Expo, is a cultural showcase of the Republic of Korea.
Al Kaabi’s tour of the pavilion introduced her to various cultural highlights of the East Asian nation and while also giving a glimpse of the innovative technologies developed in Korea and the country’s vision for the future. The pavilion’s unique design features 1,597 cubes on a dynamic façade that constantly changes through the course of the day.
The Minister met with Ahn Yoo-seok, the head of the South Korean Pavilion, who explained the concept of the pavilion which is based on the theme “Smart Korea – Moving the World to You”. The pavilion reflects South Korea’s progress in the field of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the country’s adoption of the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and the Internet of Things.
The Korean Pavilion offers an interactive experience sharing across real and virtual environments. It showcases the new means of mobility that would help create a more connected society in the future. It also highlights the changes that innovations will bring about in both the virtual and real worlds.
While showcasing new and upcoming technological innovations and their impact on social interactions, the pavilion also presents a variety of traditional and cultural performances, including Korean folk performances.
